The term education and upbringing is composed of two elements. One is education, which means imparting the basic qualities necessary for living, teaching, educating, disseminating information, and the other term is 'upbringing', which means nurturing, teaching good habits, imparting virtues, and guarding against vices, and instilling God-consciousness and piety in children. Pre-Islamic Arabia witnessed the marginalization of women, devoid of any rights. However, Islam emerged to accentuate the position and status of women, providing them with due recognition and dignity. Through an examination of select Quranic verses, this research delves into the portrayal of women in the Quran, shedding light on their diverse roles and narratives. Notable female figures such as Zulekha, Bilquis (Queen of Sheba), the wife of Hazrat Lut (AS), and Maryam are among those mentioned, each symbolizing different aspects of womanhood and resilience. Islam, in its essence, upholds principles of respect and equity for women, evidenced by the legal protections enshrined in the Quran pertaining to marriage, divorce, and inheritance. Such provisions signify significant strides towards gender equality, contrasting starkly with the pre-Islamic societal norms. Through a critical analysis of Quranic verses, this study elucidates the multifaceted representation of women in the Quran, highlighting their integral role in shaping societal frameworks.</p> Dr. Asma Aziz, Dr. Abbas Ali Raza, Umm e Aymen Copyright (c) 2024 AL-QAWĀRĪR https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://journal.al-qawarir.com/index.php/alqawarir/article/view/314 Wed, 27 Mar 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Resolving Marital Discord: Insights from Islamic Jurisprudence on Conflict and Reconciliation https://journal.al-qawarir.com/index.php/alqawarir/article/view/318 <table width="522"> <tbody> <tr> <td width="522"> <p>In Islam, marriage is a sacred covenant that signifies one of Allah’s divine signs, fostering mutual affection and love as highlighted in the Quran, Surah Ar-Rum.
