Khurram The image of women In Arabic poetry from pre-Islamic to Islamic era
Abstract
This article is intended to analyze the image of women in pre-Islamic poetry which is known as the Mu'allaqat and Islamic poetic assortment; which are regarded as the best piece of literary Arabic. The status of women in Islam has been the topic of many poets. The odes conveyed different images of women in pagan Arabia. There were different images of fertility, motherhood, divinity, respect, and love.
The study aims to examine is to recognize the genuine reasoning behind the poets' over accentuation on women in their tributes. Discourse and qualitative contents analysis techniques applied in this research, the study found the depiction of both the Ideal and real woman in Mu’allaqat to confine to descriptions and similes them to objects found in the surroundings of the poets. The pre-Islamic and early Islamic periods were considered very important sources for studying.
