Abstract

Family, society and the whole mankind is treated by Islam on an ethical way. Differentiation in gender is not neither a credit nor a drawback for the genders. When we discuss the status and position of women in Islam it should not lead us to think that the kind of responsibilities or obligations is the reason of the respect but it is the fear of Allah (Taqwa) which decides the actual place of human beings beyond the discrimination of gender. Islam being a religion, treated the females as an independent individual who has all the rights regarding their life. She is as independent and responsible as the males are. Keeping in view the position of females before Islam, the Holy Prophet PBUH pay special attention towards the women rights. He encouraged the females in all positions to participate in the race of life and use their talent for the betterment of the society. This paper is intended to provide a brief and authentic exposition of the teachings of Holy Prophet PBUH in this regard. The paper starts with a brief survey of the position of women in the pre. Islamic era. It then focus on these major questions: what are the actual teachings of Islam regarding the position of women in society? What are the effects of women’s role and appreciation described by the Holy Prophet PBUH time to time to encourage females?  What are the best qualities of the females as per the sayings of the Holy Prophet PBUH?
