Abstract

There are many academic discussions from the perspective of gender that prevails in educational world. The issue of the prophet hood of woman is controversial since long and has been deliberated in theological literature extensively. There are two groups of religious scholars about the grant of prophetic status to the women. The majority of the classical scholars did not support the belief of prophet hood in women. They are of the opinion that prophet hood needs some capabilities that are nor found in this gender. The other group disproves their viewpoint & rationale and presents evidences from the Quran. The article deals with the evidences of both groups and validates their suability. The article is written in analytical mode and reaches at the outcome that prophet hood in women should be accepted. There is nothing to declare that the women are not eligible for this status. The Quran authenticates this point of view vividly.
