Abstract

A Healthy mind is in a healthy body. Entertainment is a source of physical health.
This concept isfound in every religion and society. Islam also advocates in favour
of good health and sound physique. A healthy and fit Muslim is considered to
better than weaker one. Both male and female are encouraged to be active in
practical life. Participation in games and other recreational activities are not
against the spirit of Islam. It provides a few Islamic principles with reference to
the participation. Islam gives the special status to women and being a religion, it
does now allow women to participate in any recreational activity with or in front
of unknown males. Just like Islam does not allow men to have all types of sports
and entertainment, it has set some restrictions on women in term of
entertainment. So many religious and cultural constraints prevent females to
participate at national or international level. There are special Islamic codes
with reference to the women participation like covering her body, avoid the
mixing of male and female, dress code etc. It is recommended that females should
be given standard facilities for recreation. The facilities should ensure proper
separate training centres, exercise labs, gyms, running tracks and playing spaces.
Therefore, they carry out their best one and their femininity and dignity should
not be damaged.
