Abstract

This paper deals with mother’s role in personality development of an individual and some contemporary challenges in this regard. A child’s personality is shaped by people close to them but mother plays most important role. She is responsible for the physical and mental health of a child, his character traits, his well being, his habits etc. She instills the values in child’s mind. In other words she shapes the future of a nation. So she should be a good role model, love her children and show affection with them, make the home a safe heaven for them … etc. To raise healthy (mentally and physically), strong, active, brilliant and visionary children is the basic and most important duty of a Muslim mother. Different aspects of a mother’s role, her duties and some contemporary challenges are being discussed in this paper.
