Family pressure and its effects On the marriage of women In the context of Sirat -e-Tayyaba
Abstract
Marriage is very important in Islam. The purpose of marriage is not only the fulfillment of desires but also marriage is the means of survival of human society. Marriage is the guarantor to make a prosperous society. For a successful family, it is important that the man and the woman are allowed to marry of their choice and it is not forced upon them. In our society, women are often forced into marriage. The bad consequences of which the society has to bear. This is the reason why Islam forbids forcing adult women in marriage. The Prophet ﷺ annulled the marriage of the gir owing to the fact that her marriage was forced on her by her father.From the study of the Seerah, it is known that the Prophet ﷺ discouraged the forced marriage of women and stopped the marriage in which the consent of women was not included.. In this research paper, the problem of forcing women into marriage has been discussed in the context of Sirat Tayyaba.
