Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of the pivotal role played by Ṣaḥābiyāt Raḍī Allahu ‘Anhunna, the  women companions of Prophet of Islam () in fostering social welfare. The significance of women’s contributions to societal well-being has widely been acknowledged in the later islamic history. Employing an analytical method, the research explores the social, economic, and cultural aspects of women’s roles as companions and their implications for broader welfare outcomes. By examining the experiences of women companions across different cultural settings, the paper identified various patterns, challenges, and opportunities that shape the effectiveness of their contributions to social welfare initiatives. The findings reveal the multifaceted nature of women’s roles as companions, encompassing support, community building, and leadership in various social welfare projects as well as income-generating activities and entrepreneurship. This analytical study offers valuable insights into the diverse roles played by women companions in advancing social welfare. By recognizing and understanding their contributions, women of today can perform actively in a better way bringing positive change towards social betterment.
