Abstract

Education, knowledge, and awareness are fundamental to the construction and development of human society. On the other hand, it is also a fact that women constitute half of society. Therefore, the education and upbringing of this class of women are not only essential but also indispensable for the betterment and progress of society. The term education and upbringing is composed of two elements. One is education, which means imparting the basic qualities necessary for living, teaching, educating, disseminating information, and the other term is 'upbringing', which means nurturing, teaching good habits, imparting virtues, and guarding against vices, and instilling God-consciousness and piety in children. Therefore, education and upbringing both hold fundamental importance in Islam. Knowledge is light and ignorance is misguidance.
