The primary objective of Islam was to guide the entire world to a unified path. For this reason, it conveyed a message of equality to all through its teachings, commands, and laws, which transformed religion, morality, civilization, and politics. This new spirit, which Islam regards as its foremost duty, is intended to uplift all of humanity. Since the Holy Qur'an addresses both men and women, every individual in the Ummah, regardless of gender, is a supplicant to Allah. Thus, both men and women share this responsibility. It would be wrong to assume that this is solely the duty of men, and women are exempt from it. Just as it is incorrect for men to ignore this duty, it is equally wrong for women to do so. Women are equal partners with men in the responsibility of spreading the divine commandments. This is evident in the way the Companions of the Prophet (SAW) carried out the duty of conveying God's commands through da'wah and preaching. Similarly, the Mothers of the Believers (RA) and other sahabiyat also made remarkable contributions in this regard. This article will briefly review their efforts and discuss how women today, particularly in Pakistan, can benefit from the scholarly and da'wah services of the Companions. By doing so, Pakistani women can build their character and personality, and contribute to creating an ideal society as da'iyas.
